With the new year the CAN-SPAM act became effective. And a few
hours later we trap the first, relatively minor, CAN-SPAM act
violation received from a US registered company. Perhaps they were
unaware that this spam violates the CAN-SPAM act. More likely they
know their chances of being prosecuted are about as good as one
person winning the Powerball lottery 5 times in a row.
The normal junk promoting web sites hosted in China sent from
compromised Windows machines continues to flow as expected.

Sent to the postmaster role account. Probably violates Sec. 5 (b)(1)
These twits have been blasting postmaster accounts at every domain
we host email for and many other email addresses for several days.

a Washington state area code. The email was sent from IP space
allocated to a Utah company. Last week they were sending from IP
space allocated to a Nevada company.
